It's six months since its launch, let's recap a bit. Mate 60 series, which was launched in Aug 29 last year, it sold 1.6 million units in first six weeks.

Huawei sales near USD 100 billion with the domestic chip production breakthough. This not only enable Huawei to return to consumer phone market, but also in other area such as AI chips and car chips.

In the first six weeks of 2024 sales in China, Apple tumbled 24% Y-o-Y while Huawei surged 64%. Huawei has overtaken Apple smart phone sale in China market. Only Huawei, and to a small degree Honor, have sales surged, while Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi sales also tumbled. Note that by the 8th week since its launch, Mate 60 sale reached 2.4 mil unit, according to Counterpoint data.

Mate 60 series and X5 combined sales surpass 10 million units in the first six months since their launch. It has break record in the sales of Mate series and is expected to exceed the Mate 40 record of over 30 mil units even just within the Chinese market.

Huawei Mate 60 series includes the Mate 60 Pro, Mate 60 Pro+, Mate 60 RS. Mate X5 conventiently included because it was launched very close to Mate 60 series. Price range from Yuan 6499 to 11999, putting it in the high end category.

Nova 12

Nova 12 went on sale at the end of last year, Dec 23, 2023. It featured a scale down Kirin 9000s chip running at lower frequency.

Price range from Yuan 2999 - 3399 for Nova 12, 3999 - 4399 for Nove 12 Pro, 4899 - 5499 for Nova 12 Ultra.

It uses Kirin 9000SL to be precise, with 9 cores: 2 high end cores, 4 mid end cores and 3 low end cores.

Shine

Substituting Honor series are the new Huawei Shine series. Maybe expected at the second half of this year.

Targetting the low-end market, it uses the Kirin 8000S domestic produced CPU. Price range from Yuan 2599 to 3199.

Pocket 2

Pocket 2 clamshell foldable phone was launched on Feb 22. Accordingly it uses Kirin 9000S, which is same as Mate 60, with 1 x 2.62 GHz core, 3 x 2.15 GHz cores and 4 x 1.53 GHz cores. GPU is Maleon 910 @ 750 MHz.

Marketting wise, it target women consumer. The new waterdrop hinge allow it to be almost gap-free and fold line free.

P70 series

Upcoming P70 series. Huawei phone gearing towards photographers. Possibly in the first half of this year.

Huawei P70 series include P70, P70 Pro, P70 Art. Using overclocked version of Kirin 9000S, it probably have superior performance than Kirin 9000S phones before it.

Note that Huawei has also replaced Leica with the in-house XMage CMOS chip. It has been so since the Mate 60 series.

Mate 70 series

Looking into short distant future. Breakthrough in laser interference grating allow DUV lithographic machine to produce 7 nm chip.

This has allow Huawei to fabricate 7 nm Kirin 9000S chips domestically. The Mate 60 series sales in late 2023 was just the beginning. Production lines will be ramped up this year to increase chip production for multiple upcoming Huawei phones models from low to mid to high end.

Upcoming Mate 70 series rumored to use Kirin 9100 CPU manufactured in 5 nm density. Expected to launch by the end of the year.
